Terms of Service

Effective date: October 1, 2026.

Who provides the service

OpticQR is provided by Daniel Madar, doing business as OpticQR. Contact: support@opticqr.com. These terms govern accounts, QR code creation, hosted content, redirects, analytics, and related services at opticqr.com.

Accounts and authority

You must be at least 18 and legally able to enter this agreement. If you use OpticQR for an organization, you confirm you have authority to act for it. Keep your password and Google account secure and notify us of suspected unauthorized access. You are responsible for account activity and for access you grant to editors, viewers, or workspace members.

Your content and codes

You retain ownership of your content, logos, designs, and destinations. You give us permission to store, process, display, and transmit that content as needed to provide the service. You must have permission to use it and to connect any custom domain. Hosted contact cards and link pages can be viewed by anyone with their public address unless an applicable protection is enabled. Removing someone’s workspace access does not recall files or information they already downloaded.

Test QR codes before printing or distributing them. Static codes encode their content directly and cannot be updated after printing. Dynamic codes depend on an active redirect service and, where applicable, your continued control of the custom domain. Pausing, deleting, expiring, or changing a code can change what scanners see. Keep independent copies of important designs and data.

Acceptable use

Do not use the service for phishing, malware, fraud, impersonation, unsolicited bulk messaging, unlawful content, infringement, or violations of another person’s privacy. Do not attempt unauthorized access, evade safeguards, or deliberately disrupt the service. You are responsible for disclosures and permissions needed for your own campaigns and destinations. Report abusive QR codes to our support address with the affected link and relevant details.

Plans, payment, cancellation, and refunds

Some features require a paid plan. When checkout is enabled, the checkout screen states the price, currency, billing interval, and applicable taxes before purchase. Stripe processes payments; OpticQR does not store full payment-card numbers. A recurring subscription renews at the interval you select until cancelled. Cancel through Manage billing before renewal to avoid the next charge. Cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the paid period; the billing portal shows the applicable date.

Unless checkout states otherwise or applicable law requires a refund, charges for a started billing period are not prorated. Contact support about billing errors or refund requests. Mandatory consumer rights are unaffected. We will give advance notice of price changes affecting a renewal and an opportunity to cancel before the change applies. Complimentary access does not create a paid subscription.

Availability, analytics, and changes

We aim to provide a reliable service, but do not promise uninterrupted operation or a particular uptime level. Networks, DNS, third-party services, maintenance, and abuse controls can affect availability. Analytics measure recorded link visits, not verified people or guaranteed camera scans; automated activity and approximate device/location data can affect accuracy. Features and reasonable usage limits may change. Where practical, we will notify you in advance of material changes affecting paid service.

Suspension and closure

We may restrict abusive activity or suspend accounts when reasonably necessary to address security risks, non-payment, or a violation of these terms. Where practical, we will explain the issue and allow an opportunity to resolve it. You can request account closure through support. Export needed data before closure. Deletion may make existing printed dynamic codes stop working. Limited records may remain where reasonably necessary for legal, payment, security, or backup purposes, as described in the Privacy Policy.

Responsibility and disputes

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided as available without guarantees of fitness for a particular purpose. We are not responsible for the content or availability of third-party destinations you choose. Nothing in these terms excludes liability or consumer protections that cannot lawfully be excluded. Contact support first so we can try to resolve a problem. These terms do not require arbitration or waive mandatory rights available in your jurisdiction.

Updates

We will publish the current terms and effective date here. We will provide reasonable notice of material changes; changes do not remove rights accrued before they take effect.
